The Spiral Bouquet for a Round Vase
A dome-shaped arrangement with a self-supporting spiral grip.

Prep the vase
Fill ⅔ with lukewarm water. Add flower food, or 1 tsp sugar + 2 drops bleach per liter.

Strip the stems
Pull off every leaf that would sit below the waterline — leaves rot quickly and shorten vase life.

Build the spiral in your hand
Start with one focal stem. Add each new stem at a 30° angle, all rotating the same direction. Keep turning the bunch ¼ turn after each stem.

Layer in greenery
Tuck eucalyptus or ruscus between focal flowers — these soften the edge and hide the spiral grip.

Cut to one length
Hold the bunch over the vase and trim all stems at once with a 45° angle, so the tallest bloom sits 1.5× the vase height.

Drop it in
The spiral grip will splay open as it lands and self-support. Spin and adjust until the silhouette is round.
